Email Account Setup - Microsoft OutlookThis tutorial has been designed to help you set up your email account that is provided through your hosting with SPI New Media in Microsoft Outlook. Step 1. Have your details handyYou should have been provided with a number of details that you need to know to set up your email address in Microsoft Outlook. These should be:
Step 2. Create a new mail account in Microsoft Outlook
Step 3. Enter your account details
Step 4. Complete the setup Wizard
Step 5. Test the email accountTo test that the email account is working correctly, click the Send/Receive button on the Microsoft Outlook toolbar. There should be no errors in sending or receiving. Send some test email messages (yes, you can email yourself!) to make sure all is working as it should. Step 6. TroubleshootingFirst make sure that you have entered all the information exactly as provided. To edit an existing email account, go to Tools > E-mail Accounts > View or change existing email accounts. Highlight the email account you wish to change, and click Change. The window in Step 3 will appear allowing you to check your settings and make changes if necessary. In some cases these particular settings may not work as email server security levels vary from ISP to ISP (i.e. Telstra BigPond often requires a different Outgoing Mail Server).
